That this House notes the considerable public concern at the prohibitive level of the proposed charge of ú580 for oral hearing (or ú250 for a review on the papers) to be paid before the right of visitors' appeal can be exercised a sum for which for many people in the Indian sub-continent represent one year's earnings; and urges the Government to abolish such charges so as to restore the principle of equal access to British courts.
