That this House is appalled by Channel 4 Television's decision to screen, on 14th September 1999, a programme entitled Animal Passions about sexual relations between human beings and animals; is concerned that the programme was shown as early as 10.00 p.m. when it is known that many children and young people could be watching it; regrets the financial support, through advertising, before, during and after the programme, by which responsible companies appear to be associated with the broadcasting of this lewd programme; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to reverse its lightest regulatory touch policy and take decisive action to ensure that such depraved and corrupting programmes are not screened on British television in future.
