    That this House recognises the role of mediation services as a cost-effective and highly successful method of conflict resolution; recognises the good work carried out by all the neighbour dispute services in the UK by their full-time staff and volunteers; notes the importance of Mediation UK as an umbrella organisation which provides a valuable resource for training and the spreading of best practice; and urges the Government to continue funding these organisations as a way of saving money for local authorities, those whose quality of life is improved by mediation, and the courts.
