  • Primary sponsor: Kennedy, Jane
  • Sponsors:

That this House congratulates the Liverpool company Robinson Willey for being the only British company to fit as standard in all new gas fires an oxygen depletion pilot system that detects reductions in oxygen levels in rooms caused, for example, by blocked flues; recognises that by developing safety features for products, manufacturers of gas appliances such as Robinson Willey can make a significant contribution to reducing the number of deaths from carbon monoxide poisoning; welcomes the Gas Consumer Council's support for this device; and urges the Society of British Gas Industries to campaign amongst its members for such systems to be fitted on all new fires.
