    That this House welcomes the inclusion of Sheffield's bid on the shortlist for the British Academy of Sport; believes this to be commensurate with the Sports Council's award to Sheffield as the UK's First City of Sport; welcomes the strong support the bid has received from Yorkshire and Humberside Sports Forum, Yorkshire and Humberside CBI, Yorkshire and Humberside Association of Local Authorities, Yorkshire Business Initiative, Yorkshire and Humberside TUC, Yorkshire and Humberside Development Association, Yorkshire Water. Yorkshire Electricity and Yorkshire Cable; and congratulates the city's investment in some of the finest sports facilities in Europe, and the creative way in which the bid has been developed through the partnership of the City Council, City Trust, Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield University, Sheffield College and the city's trust hospitals, the Hallamshire and the Northern General.
