    That this House records its sadness at the death on 6th November of Tommy Lawton; acknowledges his services to Burnley, Everton, Chelsea, Notts County, Brentford, Kettering Town and England; believes Tommy Lawton to have been one of the greatest centre-forwards of the 20th century who graced football with his prodigious skills, numerous goals and exemplary sportsmanship; knows that Tommy Lawton has secured a pre-eminent place in football's hall of fame; and salutes his memory.
