That this House is concerned by the proposals in a recent review of the London Committee on Accessible Transport and its staff unit, the London Accessible Transport Unit, and, in particular, by those relating to the management and administration of the London taxicard scheme which serves about 50,000 severely disabled residents of the 29 London boroughs participating in the scheme, providing them with subsidised travel in London taxis which they would otherwise not be able to afford and which, in many cases, is their only form of mobility; and notes the concern of voluntary organisations a bout the proposals in this review for their impact on the taxicard scheme and on other services provided by the London Committee on Accessible Transport to elderly and disabled Londoners.

leave out from 'House' to end and add 'welcomes the recent review to improve the administration of the London Committee on Accessible Transport (LCAT) which has achieved savings for London council tax payers of รบ200,000 in administrative costs without affecting the high level of the service provided to those entitled to concessionary fares; further welcomes the achievement of LCAT in guaranteeing the future of the taxicard scheme with a new contract with the taxicard operators; and deprecates the action of those who raise unnecessary fears among those entitled to concessionary fares in London.'.
