That this House is glad that a parliamentary scrutiny motion was tabled on 9th March at the Home Affairs Council of the EU to prevent a decision being made on common format visas until there had been a discussion on the issue in the House of Commons as recommended by the Select Committee; and wishes to express its gratitude to the Secretary of State for the Home Department for the action he took and for his respect for parliamentary institutions.
