That this House recognises that Kurds in Turkey are the victims of persecution and discrimination on political, racial and religious grounds, and that Turkey has persistently violated accepted human rights standards in its treatment of minorities and opposition groups; and calls on the Government to place a moratorium on the removal of any of the 3,700 Kurdish asylum seekers who arrived before the imposition of visas on Turkish citizens pending further investigation into the situation of Kurds in Eastern Turkey which could provide corroboration of the asylum seekers' testimonies.
