To ask the Secretary of State for Education, how many related party transactions by Academy Trusts were classified as irregular or improper by the Education Funding Agency in each of the last two financial years; and how many such cases resulted in re-payment.

The data requested is summarised in the table below. Figures for the year ending 31 August 2015 will be available when the Education Funding Agency (EFA) has completed its reviews for that year in summer 2016.

The EFA takes proportionate action when it identifies irregular transactions, on a case by case basis, which can include the recovery of funds.
