To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, what the average (a) length and (b) skill level of apprenticeships was in England in the last 12 months.

Apprenticeships are expected to last between one and four years. To ensure that apprenticeships focus on providing sustained and substantial training, the minimum duration is 12 months.

The most recent data published is for 2011/12. Updated figures will be published in the near future.
