The value of retail sales in the three months to August 2014 was 2.6% higher than the same three months in the previous year. This year-on-year increase is now the 17th month of consecutive year on year growth. The value of retail sales in August 2014 alone was 2.7% higher than in August 2013 and 0.2% lower than July 2014. The value of internet sales in August 2014 was 8.3% higher than in August 2013.
