Act of Settlement, 1701 [HL/PO/PU/1/1700/13W3n2]
The full title of this Act is An Act for the further Limitation of the Crown, and better securing the Rights and Liberties of the Subject. It was passed in the 1700-1701 Parliamentary session, so it is sometimes known as the Act of Settlement 1700. This Act provided for a Protestant succession to Queen Anne. As a result of it, she was succeeded by George I.
