As part of its commitment to openness and transparency, the House of Commons Commission has chosen to publish information relating to its expenditure over £25,000.
This reflects what is now happening across the public sector and although not a Government Department, the House of Commons will publish information in line with HM Treasury’s guidance for the Civil Service.
Data will be released relating to House of Commons expenditure above £25,000 from January 2012.

N.B. Any payments to barristers listed within this data represent gross fee payments, which is not the same as income. From these payments all self-employed barristers have to deduct the costs of running their practices. They have to make their own provision for holiday, sickness and pension provision. Payments are inclusive of VAT, which barristers have to repay to the government.
