Police and crime commissioners: violence against women and girls A question was asked by Baroness Royall of Blaisdon and answered by Baroness Stowell of Beeston.
Living wage A question was asked by Lord Kennedy of Southwark and answered by Lord Gardiner of Kimble.
Business of the House Lord Strathclyde moved that Standing Order 30 (No Lord to speak more than once to a Motion ) be dispensed with during the Report stage of the Financial Services Bill so far as is necessary to enable debates on amendments Nos 70 and 80 (concerned with LIBOR) to be conducted as if the House were in Committee. The motion was agreed to.
Business of the House Lord Strathclyde moved that the debate on the motion in the name of Baroness Doocey set down for today shall be limited to 3 hours and that in the name of Baroness Walmsley to 2 hours. The motion was agreed to.
Public Service and Demographic Change The Chairman of Committees moved that Lord Hutton of Furness be appointed a member of the Select Committee in place of Lord Touhig, resigned. The motion was agreed to.
Adoption The Chairman of Committees moved, further to the resolution of the House of 29 May 2012 appointing a Select Committee to consider the statute law about adoption, and to make recommendations, that the Committee do also consider and report on the draft legislation on adoption laid before the House on 7 November 2012 (Cm 8473) and that the Committee do report on the draft legislation by 21 December 2012. The motion was agreed to.
10 Draft Care and Support Bill Lord Strathclyde moved that it is expedient that a joint committee of Lords and Commons be appointed to consider and report on the draft Care and Support Bill presented to both Houses on 11 July 2012 (Cm 8386) and that the committee should report on the draft Bill by 7 March 2013. The motion was agreed to and a message was sent to the Commons.
11 Contracting Out (Local Authorities Social Services Functions) (England) (Amendment) Order 2012 Lord Strathclyde moved that the draft Order be referred to a Grand Committee. The motion was agreed to.
12 Housing Act 1996 (Additional Preference for Armed Forces) (England) Regulations 2012 Lord Strathclyde moved that the draft Regulations be referred to a Grand Committee. The motion was agreed to.
13 Legal Services Act 2007 (The Law Society) (Modification of Functions) (Amendment) Order 2012 Lord Strathclyde moved that the draft Order be referred to a Grand Committee. The motion was agreed to.
14 Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) (Amendment) Regulations 2012 Lord Strathclyde moved that the draft Regulations be referred to a Grand Committee. The motion was agreed to.
15 District Electoral Areas Commissioner (Northern Ireland) Order 2012 Lord Strathclyde moved that the draft Order be referred to a Grand Committee. The motion was agreed to.

17  Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012 (3-hour debate) Baroness Doocey moved that this House takes note of the long-term legacy for the UK from the Olympic and Paralympic Games. After debate, the motion was agreed to.
18  Education: early years (2-hour debate) Baroness Walmsley moved that this House takes note of the importance of early years education. After debate, the motion was agreed to.
19 Future Reserves 2020 Green Paper Lord Astor of Hever repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.
