Alcohol: minimum pricing Lord Taylor of Holbeach repeated as a ministerial statement the answer given to an Urgent Question in the House of Commons.
Business of the House Baroness Anelay of St Johns, on behalf of Lord Hill of Oareford, moved that Standing Order 46 (No two stages of a Bill to be taken on one day ) be dispensed with on Thursday 21 March to allow the Supply and Appropriation (Anticipation and Adjustments) Bill to be taken through all its remaining stages that day. The motion was agreed to.
Business of the House Baroness Anelay of St Johns, on behalf of Lord Hill of Oareford, moved that Standing Order 40 (Arrangement of the Order Paper) be dispensed with on Monday 18 March to allow the motion in the name of Baroness Tonge to be taken before the motion in the name of Lord Inglewood. The motion was agreed to.
Afghanistan Baroness Warsi moved that this House takes note of Afghanistan’s regional relationships and their impact on the long-term future of that country. After debate, the motion was agreed to.
Diocese in Europe Measure The Lord Bishop of Newcastle moved that this House do direct that, in accordance with the Church of England Assembly (Powers) Act 1919, the Diocese in Europe Measure be presented to Her Majesty for the Royal Assent. After debate, the motion was agreed to.
10 Clergy Discipline (Amendment) Measure The Lord Bishop of Newcastle moved that this House do direct that, in accordance with the Church of England Assembly (Powers) Act 1919, the Clergy Discipline (Amendment) Measure be presented to Her Majesty for the Royal Assent. After debate, the motion was agreed to.
11 United Kingdom: future demographic trends A question was asked by Lord Hodgson of Astley Abbotts and, after debate, answered by Baroness Warsi.
12 Apprenticeships Baroness Garden of Frognal repeated a ministerial statement made in the House of Commons.
