In the final sitting week of 2017, MPs in the House of Commons debated Brexit, the Finance Bill and more.

Legislation: Government Bills

European Union (Withdrawal) Bill

This week saw the continuation of the Committee stage of the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill.

The Bill is now scheduled to return to the Commons for its Report Stage on 16 January 2018.

Finance (No 2) Bill 2017-18

This week the Finance (No 2) Bill completed two days of its Committee of the whole House stage. The remainder of the Bill will now be considered in a Public Bill Committee which is scheduled to have its first meeting on Tuesday 9 January 2018, concluding by Thursday 18 January 2018..

Two Private Members' Bills were introduced to the House following Ten Minute Rule Motions this week:

Prime Minister's Questions

On Wednesday 20 December MPs asked the Prime Minister questions about Brexit negotiations, Universal Credit, and more.

Backbench Business debates

On Thursday 21 December in the Commons Chamber, MPs took part in two debates which had been scheduled by the Backbench Business Committee.

Westminster Hall debates
