A new crossbench life peer, Mervyn King, will be introduced into the House of Lords today (Monday 22 July).
Following a short introduction ceremony this afternoon Lord King of Lothbury will be able to sit and vote in the House.
Lord King of Lothbury is the former governor of the Bank of England, a post he was appointed to in 2003. He was previously deputy governor from 1998 to 2003, and chief economist and executive director from 1991.
