House of Lords debates Syria

On Thursday 29 August peers debated the UK response to the use of chemical weapons in Syria.

Peers considered whether a military response was the best course of action and looked at the objectives, legal basis and anticipated effect of UK intervention.

The House of Lords was last recalled during recess on 10 April 2013 when tributes were paid to Baroness Thatcher.
