MPs debate the Northern Ireland Economy

02 March 2012

Laurence Robertson, Conservative MP for Tewkesbury and Chair of the Northern Ireland Affairs Select Committee, moved a debate in Westminster Hall on Thursday 1 March on the Northern Ireland Economy.

David Gauke, Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, responded in the debate on behalf of the Government. Watch and read the views expressed by MPs during the debate on Parliament TV and in Commons Hansard.

Northern Ireland Select Committee reports

The debate follows the publication by the Northern Ireland Select Committee of a report into Corporation Tax in Northern Ireland and the Government's Response and the second report from the committee, Air Passenger Duty: Implications for Northern Ireland.

Westminster Hall debates

Westminster Hall adjournment debates allow MPs to discuss issues of local or personal interest which rarely have time to be debated in the main Chamber of the House of Commons. MPs can discuss a variety of issues and receive a response from a government Minister.
