The debate followed the Prime Minister’s statement to the House of Commons on public confidence in the media and the police on Wednesday 20 July. The Home Affairs Committee and the Culture, Media and Sport Committee also held evidence session on unauthorised hacking of mobile phones on Tuesday 19 July.
