MPs debate Sure Start children's centres

Shadow Secretary of State for Education, Andy Burnham, moved an Opposition Day debate in the House of Commons on Wednesday 27 April on the subject of Sure Start Children's Centres.

Sure Start

Children's centres provide a variety of advice and support for parents and carers. Their services are available from pregnancy right through to when children go into reception class at primary school.

Watch and read the views expressed by MPs during the debate. The Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove, responded on behalf of the Government.
