Viscount Bridgeman introduced a debate on the role of the police in the House of Lords on Thursday 25 November.

- Lord Condon (Crossbench), former Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police
- Viscount Bridgeman (Conservative), former government spokesperson for Home Affairs
- Lord Shipley (Liberal Democrat), former member of the Northumbria Police Authority
Lord Freeman and Lord Rosser also participated in the debate. Lord Wallace of Saltaire, government spokesperson for the Home Office, responded on behalf of the government.
