Commons debate defence in the world

Bob Ainsworth, Defence Secretary opened a debate on defence in the world. Liam Fox, Shadow Defence Secretary opened for the Opposition and Bill Rammell, Minister for the Armed Forces, wound up for the Government.

A number of defence matters were debated including

  • Afghanistan
  • defence budgets and spending
  • the Falklands
  • the strategic defence review
  • armoured vehicles
  • aircraft carriers
  • improvised explosive devices
  • cyber threats
  • NATO
