Dairy Farmers of Britain inquiry continues

The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee continues its inquiry into the collapse of Dairy Farmers of Britain (DFB) earlier this year. The Committee hears evidence from Tesco and the former Director of DFB at 2.45 pm and Minister for Farming, Food and the Environment, Jim Fitzpatrick, at 5.30 pm

The witnesses are:

  • 2.45pm: Tesco
  • 3.15pm: Michael Oakes, former Director, Dairy Farmers of Britain
  • 3.45pm: Adjournment
  • 5.30pm: Jim Fitzpatrick MP, Minister for Farming, Food and the Environment

In particular the Committee is investigating:

  • the impact of the collapse of DFB on dairy farmers and the industry
  • the governance and accountability structures of DFB
  • Defra’s response to the collapse of DFB
  • the causes and lessons to be learned from the collapse of DFB
