Cohabitation Bill

Members of the House of Lords discussed the general principles of the Cohabitation Bill on 13 March. A wide ranging debate took place with contributions from Members with expertise in human rights, law and more

The committee stage - line by line examination of the Bill - where every suggested change can be discussed and votes can happen, is yet to be scheduled.

The Cohabitation Bill provides certain protections for persons who live together as a couple or have lived together as a couple.
