Register your details – or your school, youth club or community association details – to enter the 2011 Lord Speaker’s competition, and find out about the competition timetable.

Registration

Before submitting entries for ‘The Peer Factor: Who Would You Put in the House of Lords and Why?’ all entrants must register their participation in the competition using the registration form on the Hansard Society website.

Timetable

The competition ran from Friday 21 January. The deadline for entries was 5pm on Friday 13 May.

From Monday 16 May to Friday 20 May the Hansard Society will assess all of the entries to produce a shortlist that will go forward to the judging panel.

Shortlisted entries will be presented to the Peer Factor panel for judging on Monday 23 May for their decision.

The winners will be announced on Wednesday 1 June.

Winners’ Day

There’ll be a Winners’ Day at the House of Lords on Monday 27 June. Winning entrants will be able to discuss their entry with the Lord Speaker, Baroness Hayman and the judging panel, and receive their cash prize.

A special report compiling all entries will be also be launched.

The House of Lords competition is run with the support of the Hansard Society. Entries will be judged initially by the Hansard Society’s Citizenship Education Programme.
