Through the Speaker’s School Visits Programme, the Speaker visits a wide range of schools and colleges throughout the UK, speaking to students about Parliament and his role, and answering their many challenging and interesting questions.
The programme – established by the Speaker on his election to the Chair in 2009 – aims to engage young people in Parliament and politics, and to encourage their participation as active citizens, both now and in the future.
