Press notice No. 23 of Session 2005-06
6 June 2006
'Select Committee announces evidence session with Minister on the Financial Assistance Scheme and asks for submissions'
The House of Commons Work and Pensions Committee today announced an evidence session on the Financial Assistance Scheme with the Minister of State for Pensions Reform, James Purnell MP. Details of this meetings are as follows:
Wednesday 28 June 2006
Grimond Room, Portcullis House
9.30am James Purnell MP, Minister of State for Pensions Reform
Please note that timings are approximate.
The Committee will accept short written submissions on the Financial Assistance Scheme. Views on the operation of the scheme to date and on the Government's announcement in the pensions white paper that the scheme is to be extended are particularly welcome. The deadline for this evidence is 16 June 2006. Due to the short time available the Committee requests that all submissions should be:
no longer than 1,000 words
in Word format with as little use of colour as possible
emailed to the Committee, where possible including full details and postal address
Material already published elsewhere should not form the basis of a submission, but may be referred to within a proposed memorandum, in which case a hard copy of the published work should be included.
Memoranda submitted to the Committee must be kept confidential until published by the Committee, unless specifically authorised by the Committee.
