PUBLIC SERVICES OMBUDSMAN (WALES) BILL [HL]
The Welsh Affairs Committee of the House of Commons and the Local Government and Public Services Committee of the National Assembly for Wales will be carrying out a joint inquiry of the Public Services Ombudsman (Wales) Bill [HL]. The Committees intend to hold joint meetings and oral evidence sessions for this purpose..
The Bill establishes the Office of Public Service Ombudsman for Wales, and in doing so, abolishes the Commission for Local Administration in Wales, the offices of Welsh Administration Ombudsman, the Health Service Commissioner for Wales and the Social Housing Ombudsman for Wales.
The Bill was published on 24 November 2004 and is available at http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/ld200405/ldbills/003/2005003.htm or from the Stationery Office Bookshops (telephone orders: 0870 600 5522).
Interested parties are invited to submit written evidence to either Committee at the addresses below, to arrive not later than Tuesday 11 January 2005. If possible, please supply an electronic version in MS Word or Rich Text format.
Timetable for the inquiry: It is likely that the Committees will hold oral evidence sessions in January.
