ANNOUNCEMENT OF INQUIRIES

GOVERNMENT WHITE PAPER: BETTER GOVERNANCE FOR WALES

The Committee's first major inquiry in the new Parliament will be into the Government White Paper: Better Governance for Wales.

Interested parties are invited to submit written evidence to the Clerk of the Committee at the address above, to arrive not later than Monday 19 September 2005.  If possible, please supply an electronic version in MS Word or Rich Text format, either by e mail to [email protected] or on a disk.  If submitted by e mail or e mail attachment, a letter should also be sent validating the e mail.  Further guidance on the submission of evidence can be found at: www.parliament.uk/commons/selcom/witguide.htm

Timetable for the inquiry

It is likely that the Committee will hold oral evidence sessions in October and November 2005.

WALES OFFICE ANNUAL REPORT

The Committee has agreed to take oral evidence from the Secretary of State for Wales on the Wales Office Annual Report. Details of that meeting will be announced later in the summer.
