THE EMPOWERMENT OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN WALES REPORT

The Committee will publish the Government response. As the Second Special Report.

The Government Response to the First Report of the Committee (Session 2003-04) on The Empowerment of Children and Young People In Wales will be published at 12.00pm on Tuesday 6 April (Second Special Report, 2003-04, HC 459).

FOLLOW-UP INQUIRY INTO THE POWERS OF THE CHILDREN’S COMMISSIONER FOR WALES

The Committee has agreed to undertake a short follow-up inquiry into the powers of the Children’s Commissioner for Wales. The inquiry will focus on the Commissioner’s powers in relation to the proposals for a Children’s Commissioner for England as set out in the Children Bill.

Oral Evidence sessions will be announced by press notice at a future date.

If you wish to submit written evidence please supply an electronic version in MS Word or Rich Text format, either by e mail to [email protected] or on a disk.  If submitted by e mail or e mail attachment, a letter should also be sent validating the e mail.  Further guidance on the submission of evidence can be found at: www.parliament.uk/commons/selcom/witguide.htm. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 21 April.
