GLOBALISATION AND ITS IMPACT ON WALES
Welsh Affairs Committee visit to Barcelona and Bilbao
The Welsh Affairs Committee will visit Barcelona and Bilbao as part of the broadcasting and creative industries section of its inquiry into globalisation and its impact on Wales. The Committee arrives in Barcelona on Sunday 20 April and travels to Bilbao on the evening of Tuesday 22 April. Details of the Committee’s programme include:
Monday 21 April
Meetings with Secretary General for Media and Communication and Secretary General for Home Affairs, Institutional Relations and Participation, Generalitat de Catalunya
Visit to Barcelona University
Presentation and tour by 22@ Barcelona, a project aiming to transform industrial land into an innovative economic district
Visit to the Catalan Audiovisual Council and a Catalunya broadcasting corporation
Tuesday 22 April
Visits to:
Open University of Cataluyna
Vilaweb, a Catalan news website
El Periodico de Catalunya, a daily Barcelona newspaper
British Chamber of Commerce
Wednesday 23 April
Meetings and presentations with Basque Industrial Development Agency
Visit to Higher School of Engineering
Visit to Basque TV and Radio Broadcasting Board
Presentation by Basque Country Audiovisual Cluster
Thursday 24 April
Visit to Mondragon, a worker-owned cooperative movement
