APPOINTMENT OF PAUL TUCKER AS DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF THE BANK OF ENGLAND
At its meeting today (
Wednesday 21 January), the Treasury Committee agreed its Fourth Report of Session 2008-09 entitled, Appointment of Paul Tucker as Deputy Governor of the Bank of England (Financial Stability) (HC 34).
Following the Committee's meeting to adopt the Report, the Chairman of the Committee, John McFall MP, said:
“In order to avoid market uncertainty, I am announcing today, with the Treasury Committee’s agreement, that the Report to be published later this week unanimously endorses the appointment of Paul Tucker as Deputy Governor of the Bank of England, with responsibility for financial stability.”
The Committee’s Report will be published on
Friday 23 January at 11.00 am on its web site.
The uncorrected transcript of the evidence taken today will also be available on the Committee’s website in due course.
