Financial Protection for Air Travellers and
The Committee has decided to hold a one-off evidence session on the Civil Aviation Authority's draft advice to Government about future arrangements for financial protection for air travellers, which is due to be finalised in July, on
Wednesday 30 June between 2.45 and 5.30 pm. The session will examine the rationale behind the various options for protecting travellers when airlines are in financial difficulty, and the reasons for the Civil Aviation Authority's proposals.
The witnesses will be decided shortly.
Since many responses to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) consultation are publicly available on the CAA website, the Committee is not calling for memoranda to be submitted on this subject. However, not all interested parties wished their submissions to the CAA's consultation to be made public. They may wish to consider providing the Committee with their views in writing. Those who wish their views to be treated in confidence should contact the Committee Clerk in advance.
The evidence session will take place in public, unless otherwise decided by the Committee. Because the meetings may be moved from the Palace of Westminster to Portcullis House, those wishing to attend the meetings should check the venue by contacting the Committee Office Information Line on 020 7219 2033 on the day before the hearings.
