EVIDENCE SESSION WITH SIR DIGBY JONES

Oral evidence session

The appointment of a Minister who is at that point a member of neither the House of Commons nor the House of Lords is unusual, though not unprecedented. Last week the Prime Minister announced the appointment of Sir Digby Jones as Minister of State for Trade Promotion and Investment.  The Trade and Industry Committee is interested in how the new Minister views his job, what he hopes to achieve and how, in his view, the Government should undertake trade promotion and inward investment.

As a result, the Committee is holding the following evidence session:

Date and Time:  Monday 16th July at 4.00 pm
Witnesses:  Sir Digby Jones, Minister of State for Trade Promotion and Investment
Location:  Boothroyd Room, Portcullis House

The session will be open to the public on a first come, first served basis.  There is no system for the prior reservation of seats in Committee Rooms.  It is advisable to allow about 20 minutes to pass through security checks.  Committee rooms and the timing of meetings are subject to change: those interested in attending the session should check the Committee Information Line on 020 7219 2033 a few days before the meeting.
