New Inquiry into the European Commission's Negotiating Strategy for the World Trade Organisation's Hong Kong Ministerial
The Trade and Industry Committee today announces its inquiry into the European Commission's (EC) Negotiating Strategy at the forthcoming World Trade Organisation (WTO) Ministerial in Hong Kong in December 2005 and the prospects for progress in the Doha round of negotiations.
The Committee is interested in the prospects for advances in the area of trade in services and non-agricultural market access. However it is clear that progress in these areas is, to some extent, dependent on successful agricultural negotiations, so evidence on the general state of negotiations would be germane.
The Committee would welcome written evidence on these or any other related issues by Friday 30 September 2005. Details of any oral evidence will be announced shortly after that date. If possible, written evidence should take the form of a memorandum with numbered paragraphs and should be submitted, as a MS Word document, by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with a single hard copy sent to the Clerk at the address above.
For further information please contact the Committee Office on 020 7219 5777/ 5778.
