STRENGTHENING THE ROLE OF THE BACKBENCHER and MAKING BETTER USE OF NON-LEGISLATIVE TIME
Witnesses for public evidence sessions on Wednesday 28 March and Wednesday 18 April
The House of Commons Modernisation Committee will hold evidence sessions on Wednesday 21 March and Wednesday 18 April in connection with its inquiries into Strengthening the role of the backbencher and making better use of non-legislative time.
Witnesses for Wednesday 28 March at 10.05am will be:
John Bercow MP, Mr Andrew Dismore MP, and Martin Salter MP
Witnesses for Wednesday 18 April at 9.35am will be:
Rt Hon Sir Alan Haselhurst MP, Chairman of Ways and Means and Deputy Speaker;
Rt Hon Michael Jack MP, Rt Hon Alan Williams MP, Dr Tony Wright MP, and Rt Hon Sir George Young MP (at 10.15am.)
Witnesses will be questioned on both subjects. Uncorrected versions of the transcripts will appear on these pages within about a week of the date of the sessions.
These will be the fourth and fifth evidence sessions for this inquiry (28 February and 14 March, uncorrected transcripts available by clicking on the links; 21 March, uncorrected transcript will appear as soon as it is available).
