In the temporary absence of the Chairman, Sir Nicholas Winterton was called to the Chair for the remainder of the meeting.

1. Scrutiny of the draft Queen's Speech

The Committee considered this matter.

Motion made, and Question proposed, That, in the opinion of the Committee, the Committee should take evidence from the Leader of the House at this meeting and that thereafter Sir Nicholas Winterton take the Chair during proceedings in the inquiry on the draft Queen's Speech.€”( Mr Greg Knight.)

Motion, by leave, withdrawn.

Resolved, That Sir Nicholas Winterton take the Chair of the Committee for the remainder of the Committee's inquiry into Scrutiny of the draft Queen's Speech.€”( Mr Greg Knight.)
