CONNECTING PARLIAMENT WITH THE PUBLIC

PUBLIC EVIDENCE SESSION POSTPONED

The evidence session with Lord Puttnam CBE, Chair of the Hansard Society Commission on Parliament in the Public Eye, announced in Press Notice No. 4, and scheduled for Wednesday 8 February at 9.35 a.m. has been postponed.

The meeting will now take place on Wednesday 29th March at 9.35 a.m.

This session will pay particular attention to the Report of the Puttnam Commission, Members Only?  Parliament in the Public Eye, as well as to the implementation of the recommendations in the Committee's own Report on Connecting Parliament with the Public, published in June 2004.   Since then, two follow-up Reports have been published: from the House of Commons Commission (First Special Report from the Committee, Session 2004-05 (HC69)), and from the House of Commons Board of Management   All these documents are available on the Committee's homepage.

The meeting will take place in a Committee Room in the House of Commons.  As Committee Rooms are liable to change, those attending are advised to check the room location on arrival.  The Committee Office recorded information line (020 7219 2033) provides details of select and standing committee meetings being held within the next two days.  Guidance for those wishing to attend select committee meetings held in public can be found on these pages.
