The Scottish Affairs Committee will take oral evidence in public from the:

Commission on Scottish Devolution

Wednesday 11 June 2008, 10.00 am

Committee Room 16, Palace of Westminster

Witnesses from the Commission on Scottish Devolution:

  • Sir Kenneth Calman, Chair
  • Jim Gallagher, Secretary
  • David Middleton, Head of Secretariat

The terms of reference of the Commission, which have been approved by the Scottish Parliament, are: “To review the provisions of the Scotland Act 1998 in the light of experience and to recommend any changes to the present constitutional arrangements that would enable the Scottish Parliament to serve the people of Scotland better, improve the financial accountability of the Scottish Parliament, and continue to secure the position of Scotland within the United Kingdom.”  This evidence session will examine the remit and working methods of the Commission.
