CHANGES TO CHEMISTRY PROVISION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SUSSEX
Following the University of Sussex's announcement to change its Chemistry provision at the University the Committee held an evidence session with the Vice Chancellor, Professor Alasdair Smith, the Head of the Chemistry Department, Dr Gerry Lawless and the Acting Head of HEFCE, Mr Steve Egan on Monday 27 March.
The findings of the Committee will be published as the Committee's Second Report of Session 2005-06, Strategic Science Provision in English Universities: a follow-up, (HC 1011) at 00.01 on Thursday 4 May 2006.
Embargoed paper copies of the Report will be available from 11.00am on Wednesday 3 May to members of the press at the press gallery in the House of Commons and to those who gave evidence from the Reception, 7 Millbank, provided they ask for copies in advance. Electronic copies of the report will also be made available to the above upon request. Requests should be emailed to [email protected] by 12.00 noon on Tuesday 2 May.
Copies of the Report can be obtained from TSO outlets and from the Parliamentary Bookshop, 12 Bridge Street, Parliament Square, London SW1A 2JX (020 7219 3890) by quoting the appropriate HC number from the day of publication.
