THE DISMISSAL OF PROFESSOR DAVID NUTT AS CHAIRMAN OF THE ADVISORY COUNCIL ON THE MISUSE OF DRUGS
Phil Willis, Chairman of the Science and Technology Committee, wrote to the Home Secretary Alan Johnson MP, Professor Nutt and Professor Beddington, Government Chief Scientific Adviser, and, in addition, to Professor Wiles, Chief Scientific Adviser at the Home Office, on 4 November, to ask for their accounts of the sequence of events leading to the dismissal of Professor Nutt as Chairman of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs.
The Committee has received a memorandum from the four recipients and, at its meeting on 18 November, agreed to publish them on the Committee's website. The letters can be viewed at:
