1. The work of the Committee and future business

The Committee deliberated.

2. Administration of the Committee

Ordered, That Committee papers be supplied to the House of Lords Delegated Powers and Regulatory Reform Committee;.

Ordered, That the Committee allows staff from the Cabinet Office and other civil servants to attend the informal presentations on the subject of RRO proposals.

Ordered, That the Committee allows members of the House of Lords Delegated Powers and Regulatory Reform Committee to attend the informal presentations.

Ordered, That the Committee invites any member of the House to attend the informal presentations.

3. Proposal for the Regulatory Reform (Forestry) Order 2006

Officials from the Forestry Commission gave a presentation. 

Ordered, That the Committee put the agreed written questions to the Commission.

4. A Bill for Better Regulation: consultation document, and Review of the Regulatory Reform Act 2001

The Committee deliberated. 

Resolved, That the Committee would not make a formal response to the consultation on the review of the Regulatory Reform Act.

Ordered, That the Clerk request from the Cabinet Office early sight of the responses to the consultation.

Resolved, That the Committee take oral evidence from The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Mr John Hutton MP, within the context of the consultation responses and the Committee's existing powers.
