PASC to quiz Cabinet Secretary on Civil Service performance

PASC - the Public Administration Select Committee - is taking evidence from Sir Gus O’Donnell, the Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Home Civil Service, at 2.45pm on Tuesday 6 February in the Grimond Room, Portcullis House.

The session will provides an opportunity for Members to consider a range of issues - including the findings of Civil Service capability reviews, the relative responsibilities of ministers and civil servants, and the current industrial action by public sector workers.

The Committee was nominated on 13 July 2005. Its terms of reference are to examine the reports of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsmen, and to consider matters relating to the quality and standards of administration provided by Civil Service departments, and other matters relating to the Civil Service.
