CIVIL SERVICE: FIT FOR PURPOSE?
CHARLES CLARKE, NICK RAYNSFORD AND BARONESS SHEPHARD TO APPEAR BEFORE PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION SELECT COMMITTEE
Thursday 14 December at 10:00 am in The Grimond Room, Portcullis House, London SW1.
The Public Administration Select Committee - PASC - is continuing its inquiry into Skills for Government by talking to three former Ministers about Government performance.
Former Home Secretary Charles Clarke is appearing alongside Baroness (Gillian) Shephard, the former Conservative Cabinet member, and the long-serving former Minister for Local Government and the Regions, Nick Raynsford.
The evidence session is part of the Committee's "Skills for Government" inquiry, and has two main strands: whether Ministers receive the right training to run their departments, and whether the Civil Service has the right skills to achieve what Ministers want.
Full details, including an Issues and Questions paper are available on the PASC website at:
