PASC to challenge the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions on Government’s Rebuttal of Ombudsman’s Pensions Report

On Wednesday 28 June the Public Administration Select Committee will be taking evidence in public for its inquiry into Ombudsman Issues: Pensions. The Committee will hear from Rt Hon John Hutton MP, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions about the Government’s rejection of the recommendations made by the Ombudsman in her Report ‘Trusting the Pensions Promise’.

The evidence session will take place on Wednesday 28 June in the Wilson Room, Portcullis House, London SW1.

Please note:  The Work and Pensions Select Committee will be taking evidence from James Parnell, Minister of State for Pensions Reform, on the Financial Assistance Scheme at 9.30 am on Wednesday 28 June in the Grimond Room, Portcullis House.


The Committee was nominated on 13 July 2005.  Its terms of reference are to examine the reports of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsmen, and to consider matters relating to the quality and standards of administration provided by Civil Service departments, and other matters relating to the Civil Service.
