PASC to take evidence on Strategic Thinking in Whitehall

The Public Administration Select Committee - PASC - is holding its first evidence session on ‘Governing the Future’ on 8 December when it will be hearing from former head of the Strategy Unit, Dr Geoff Mulgan, and former Permanent Secretary, Sir Michael Bichard. The evidence session will take place in the Grimond Room, Portcullis House, at 9.45am.

The Committee will question the witnesses on how governments make strategy, the role of the centre in future planning, and the skills and knowledge required in government to do this effectively.

The Committee was nominated on 13 July 2005.  Its terms of reference are to examine the reports of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsmen, and to consider matters relating to the quality and standards of administration provided by Civil Service departments, and other matters relating to the Civil Service.
