1. Report on Chairman’s visit to Belfast

The Chairman reported on his visit to Belfast of 29 September to 3 October. 

2. The Committee’s future programme

Resolved, That the Committee do visit Northern Ireland, from 28 to 30 November 2005, for further introductory briefings from the Northern Ireland Office and others. -(The Chairman.)

Resolved, That the Committee hear oral evidence from the Rt Hon Peter Hain MP, Secretary of State of Northern Ireland.

Resolved, That the Committee hear oral evidence from Sir Hugh Orde, Chief Constable, Police Service of Northern Ireland .

3. Special Reports

Draft Special Report (Air Transport Services in Northern Ireland: Government Response to the Committee’s Eighth Report of Session 2004 -05), proposed by the Chairman, brought up, read the first time and second time and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Fifth Special Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

Ordered, That the Government’s response to the Committee’s Eighth  Report of Session 2004-05 be appended to the Report. -(The Chairman.)

Draft Special Report (Ways of Dealing with Northern Ireland’s Past: Interim Report - Victims and Survivors. Government Response to the Committee’s Tenth Report of Session 2004 -05), proposed by the Chairman, brought up, read the first time and second time and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Sixth Special Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

Ordered, That the Government response to the Committee’s Tenth  Report of Session 2004-05 be appended to the Report. -(The Chairman.)

Draft Special Report (The Functions of the Northern Ireland Policing Board: Government Response to the Committee’s Seventh Report of Session 2004 -05), proposed by the Chairman, brought up, read the first time and second time and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Seventh Special Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

Ordered, That the responses to the Committee’s Second  Report of Session 2004-05 be appended to the Report. -(The Chairman.)
