Sir Patrick Cormack was called to the Chair.

The Committee deliberated.

Resolved, That the Committee meet on Wednesday afternoons at 2.30 pm unless the Committee otherwise orders. -(The Chairman.)

Ordered, That members of the public be admitted during the examination of witnesses unless the Committee otherwise orders. -(The Chairman.)

Resolved, That the Chairman do visit Northern Ireland, at  a date to be arranged, for introductory briefings from the Northern Ireland Office and others. -(The Chairman.)

Resolved, That the Committee do visit Northern Ireland, from 17 to 19 October 2005, for introductory briefings from the Northern Ireland Office and others. -(The Chairman.)

Draft Special Report (Government Response to the Fourth Report of the Committee, Session 2004-05, on The Work of the Committee in 2004), proposed by the Chairman, brought up, read the first time and second time and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the First Special Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

Ordered, That the Government’s response to the Committee’s Fourth  Report of Session 2004-05 be appended to the Report. -(The Chairman.)

Draft Special Report (Responses from the Government and the Office of the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland to the Fifth Report of the Committee, Session 2004-05, on The Functions of the Office of the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland), proposed by the Chairman, brought up, read the first time and second time and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Second Special Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

Ordered, That the responses to the Committee’s Fifth  Report of Session 2004-05 be appended to the Report. -(The Chairman.)

Draft Special Report (Government Response to the Second Report of the Committee, Session 2004-05, on The Parades Commission and Public Processions (Northern Ireland) Act 1998), proposed by the Chairman, brought up, read the first time and second time and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Third Special Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

Ordered, That the Government’s response to the Committee’s Second  Report of Session 2004-05 be appended to the Report. -(The Chairman.)

Draft Special Report (Government Response to the Ninth Report of the Committee, Session 2004-05, on The Challenge of Diversity: Hate Crime in Northern Ireland), proposed by the Chairman, brought up, read the first time and second time and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Fourth Special Report of the Committee to the House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

Ordered, That the Government’s response to the Committee’s Ninth  Report of Session 2004-05 be appended to the Report. -(The Chairman.)
